Adelaide captain Taylor Walker says club medicos will decide whether he plays in the AFL premiership season opener.

Walker suffered tightness in a hamstring and left the field during Adelaide's trial game win against Brisbane last Saturday.

"I will be honest, I will be guided by the PPT (physical performance team) because I have never had a hamstring (injury)," Walker told radio station Triple M on Tuesday.

"I'm backing the doctors in to make a clear and good decision."

Walker had kicked three goals against the Lions but didn't feature after three quarter-time.

"I left the ground with a bit of tightness in the hammy and pulled up really well, so good signs early," he said.

The injury concern is the latest to hit the Crows ahead of their premiership season opener against Greater Western Sydney on March 26.

Walker said he expected his vice-captain Rory Sloane, who didn't play a pre-season game after fracturing an eye socket in a training mishap, to front against the Giants.

But midfielders Scott Thomspon (shoulder) and Brad Crouch (hamstring) and defenders Jake Lever (hamstring) and Kyle Cheney (groin) all face battles to prove their fitness after all missed the three-game pre-season series.
