Adelaide are confident key defender Daniel Talia can overcome his latest AFL injury and play against GWS on Saturday.

Talia suffered a corked calf and was unable to take the field in the late stages of Adelaide's three-point triumph against Port Adelaide last Saturday.

"He should be okay. We're confident at the moment," Crows assistant coach Scott Camporeale told reporters on Monday.

Talia has been playing with a hairline fracture (leg) in the past fortnight for the Crows.

Experienced midfielder Richard Douglas could return from a four-match absence because of an ankle injury while forward Mitch McGovern is in the selection frame after missing the Port game because of a shoulder complaint.

"They're a chance," Camporeale said. "Dougy was close but we probably thought just needed another week on the track so he will train fully this week."

"And Mitch ... we'll see how his shoulder is when we do our main session this week but we're hopeful."

The Crows are in 12th spot and need to win all three remaining games to have a chance of sneaking into the finals.

And while they lag two wins behind eighth-spot, Camporeale said it was pointless for his club to focus on their finals permutations ahead of their trip to Canberra to play the third-placed Giants.

"We can't worry about other results, all we can worry about is what we do," he said. "And GWS is clearly another tough assignment this week."

"They're going well, they have won seven out of their last eight so clearly they're up and going - and they need to win as well to keep perhaps top-four hopes alive.

"So it's a really important game for both clubs ... but history says we play pretty good footy against them."
