Beleaguered AFL club Adelaide have revealed captain Taylor Walker was disciplined for a mid-season drinking incident.

As post-season fallout continues at the Crows after missing the finals a year after being beaten grand finalists, the club says Walker was reprimanded for what it calls a "minor" indiscretion involving alcohol in July.

The revelation comes amid reports of Walker and a group of senior Crows players confronting club hierarchy this week over the handling of a series of issues including a controversial pre-season camp.

The camp, run by mind performance company Collective Mind in Queensland in January, created unrest among Adelaide's playing group and coaching staff.

Adelaide's chief executive Andrew Fagan on Thursday conceded the camp had been a "massive distraction" and coach Don Pyke previously described it as a fail.

The Crows cut ties with Collective Mind mid-season but the company held a media conference on Monday defending the camp.

Fairfax media reported on Friday that Walker, vice-captain Rory Sloane and senior players including Matt Crouch, Tom Lynch and Josh Jenkins expressed their disappointment to Pyke, Fagan and football manager Brett Burton at a meeting following the company's media conference.

The senior core reportedly told club hierarchy they had failed in their duty of care to players.

The report comes in a week when forward Mitch McGovern has demanded a trade from the Crows after serving just one year of a three-year contract.

Assistant coach Josh Francou quit the club this week, also after fulfilling only one season of a three-year deal, and another assistant coach, Tate Kaesler, also departed.

The Crows also announced physiotherapist and research scientist Steve Saunders had been added to the club's high performance team, which has been criticised for introducing training changes which resulted in a series of players suffering hamstring injuries this season.
