Adelaide key forward Josh Jenkins has been cleared of serious injury after being rushed to hospital during Saturday's AFL win against Hawthorn.

Medicos initially feared Jenkins suffered a punctured lung but two sets of scans have shown no internal injury.

"He had some more scans today and he has been cleared of any structural or internal damage, which is good news for us," Crows captain Taylor Walker told reporters on Monday.

"Obviously at the event the medical officer at the MCG made the decision for JJ to go to hospital which we as a footy club fully understand."

But Jenkins remains in doubt for Adelaide's top-of-the-table clash on Saturday night against ladder leaders Port Adelaide.

"I'm probably not in the position to be able to say what per cent he is of playing this week," Walker said.

"But I'm sure over the next couple of days we will find out his progress and fingers crossed for us he gets up and plays."

Despite Jenkins' absence, the Crows came from four goals down to beat Hawthorn.

The victory came a week after his fellow forward Walker was sidelined by injury for Adelaide's season-opening win against Greater Western Sydney.

"That's the beauty of our forward line, our attack," Walker said.

"If one player isn't playing well or isn't playing then our ability to score is credit to the way we play.

"So whether he's there (against Port) or not we'll still play the way we want."
