Adelaide coach Don Pyke doesn't want to dwell on his AFL club's last meeting with Melbourne.

The Demons pummelled the Crows by 89 points in round 10 in Alice Springs, signalling all wasn't well in Pyke's world.

"We haven't really gone over that too much," Pyke said before Saturday night's re-match at Adelaide Oval.

"Probably leave that one behind. I'm not sure that's going to help us.

"We learnt Melbourne is clearly a very good side and played very well - as poorly as we played.

"I would be surprised and very disappointed if we played like that again tomorrow night."

Pyke's Crows have been treading water since their trip to the Red Centre and enter Saturday night's fixture 12th on the ladder - but just one win behind the seventh-placed Demons.

Adelaide have their entire leadership group - Taylor Walker, Rory Sloane, Matt Crouch and Tom Lynch - in the same team for just the third time this season.

Walker returns from a one-match suspension to face the Demons, who named the same side that was beaten by Geelong defender Zach Tuohy's goal after the siren last weekend.

Pyke said his leaders being available as a set, after all have endured injury-curtailed seasons, couldn't be underplayed.

"There is leadership sitting around in a meeting on a Monday morning talking about review of games but the on-ground leadership comes to the fore," Pyke said.

"We saw that three weeks ago with (Walker) against West Coast when his impact on the game was significant.

"We saw it against Geelong with Rory Sloane around the ball and his passion and drive for the contest.

"That is what our leaders do. They set an example on field that allows others to follow."

Adelaide lost young backman Tom Doedee (concussion) with Pyke considering redeploying Mitch McGovern from attack to defence as cover.

"McGovern's natural leading patterns are as a forward but we have explored him down back," Pyke said.

"It's always nice to have a guy in your side who can do a bit of both.

"He is probably the one forward we have got we think can develop into that sort of player who can swing from both ends."
