Crows sweating on skipper Walker in AFL

Adelaide key defender Daniel Talia is expected to avoid the sidelines after sitting out the final quarter of Saturday night's AFL loss to Geelong.

Adelaide captain Taylor Walker will undergo scans after injuring his ankle during his side's AFL loss to Geelong.

The key forward left the field in the dying minutes of Saturday night's game and spent the next day in a moon boot.

"Obviously, we didn't want to take any risks," Crows fitness coach Brett Burton said on Monday.

"We'll get some scans on that and have further information in the next few days."

In better news for the Crows, key defender Daniel Talia is set to be available for Sunday's clash with Essendon after suffering a corked hip.

The All-Australian candidate is expected to benefit from an extended break despite sitting out the final quarter at Simonds Stadium.

"We'll go through the normal process of getting him moving this week, and with the eight-day break we expect him to be available," Burton told the Crows website.

Young goalsneak Troy Menzel, who has been sidelined for a month after suffering his second concussion for the season, is on track to return through the SANFL.
