Adelaide skipper Taylor Walker thought his fine was a bit of a joke and the AFL tribunal agreed.
Walker's fine for misconduct against West Coast's Luke Shuey was thrown out in quick time on Tuesday night.
The Crows forward, appearing via video-link, didn't utter a word during the 20-minute hearing, the jury of Jason Johnson, David Neitz and Stewart Loewe taking approximately 60 seconds to find him not guilty.
The exchange of inconsequential blows between Shuey and Walker was about what you would expect to see between brothers in the backyard.
But Shuey got off scot-free and Walker was charged with misconduct, which came with a $2500 fine that dropped down to $1500 with an early plea.
"Gil you better have me on your Xmas break up list... honestly! #donations #contact #retaliatoralwaysgetscaught," Walker tweeted in a cheeky dig at AFL chief Gillon McLachlan on Monday night.
Misconduct is a low-end charge with a wide definition that includes terms like 'unacceptable', 'unsportsmanlike' and 'bring the game into disrepute'.
Adelaide legal counsel Andrew Culshaw argued Walker's action was none of those things.
He went on to say that to find Walker guilty of something that happens often on a footy field would set a dangerous precedent.
"When I first was told about it, I thought it was a bit of a joke," Walker told reporters after the hearing.
"Andrew put a great case forward. It was on the basis it was a bad look for our game if I was to be found guilty.
"We put a great case forward and found not guilty, which was great."
Richmond's Nick Vlastuin was the only player to receive with a ban after AFL match review officer Michael Christian's assessment of round 15.
Vlastuin will miss Friday night's clash with Adelaide at the MCG after he accepted a one-game suspension for striking Sydney's Luke Parker.
