The Crusaders have made three changes to their forward pack as they aim for a second Super Rugby win in South Africa.

Coach Todd Blackadder has kept the same backline that started in their 19-14 win over the Sharks for the match against the Lions in Johannesburg on Friday night (Saturday 8am AEDT).

However, in the starting pack prop Wyatt Crockett replaces Joe Moody, lock Luke Romano is in for Sam Whitelock and Jimmy Tupou takes over at blindside flanker from Jordan Taufua.

The replaced players are all moved to the reserves, where midfield back Sean Wainui replaces flanker Tim Boys to strengthen the back reinforcements.

The Crusaders are fifth in the Australasian group with three wins from four games.
