Cummins' Delhi get unwanted IPL record

Just 10 runs was another for Pat Cummins to be Delhi's joint-second top scorer as his Daredevils slumped to the biggest defeat in Indian Premier League history.

Mumbai Indians have entered the Indian Premier League record books and qualified for the play-offs by routing Pat Cummins' Delhi Daredevils by 146 runs.

The Daredevils were bowled out for just 66 runs in 13.4 overs. That was in reply to Mumbai's 3-212, which was founded on half-centuries by Lendl Simmons (66) and Kieron Pollard (63 not out). Cummins' final over - the last of the innings - went for 23 runs.

Mumbai eclipsed the IPL record of biggest win by runs, held by Royal Challengers Bangalore last year when they beat Gujarat Lions by 144.

Legspinner Karn Sharma (3-11) and offspinner Harbhajan Singh (3-22) did the damage as the Daredevils failed to recover after losing Sanju Samson to New Zealand's Mitchell McClenaghan's first ball in their run chase.

The Daredevils batting line-up was blown away just two days after chasing down 209 against the Lions at the same venue.

Meanwhile, left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat took 5-30 and a hat-trick in an impressive last maiden over as Steve Smith's Rising Pune Supergiants defeated defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs.

Australia skipper Steve Smith was back in form for Pune after a recent slump, hitting 34 from 39 balls before being caught by Bipul Sharma off the bowling of Siddarth Kaul. Ben Stokes top-scored with 39, while MS Dhoni made 31 as Supergiants limped to a below-par 8-148.

Smith's fellow Australian batsman David Warner got the Sunrisers off to a flying start before being dismissed for 40 by Stokes, who returned 4-30 from his four overs.

Warner's Hyderabad were still cruising at 3-83 before losing 6-53 in their final seven overs.

Yuvraj Singh top-scored with 47 from 43 balls.

"Well, brilliant to get through in a low-scoring game," Unadkat said. "I have been just sticking it to my strengths and I am really happy with the wickets."
