Curator gives Adelaide pitch a shave

Adelaide Oval curator Damian Hough has shaved two millimetres of grass off the wicket and predicts the pink ball might not nip around as much.

Adelaide Oval's curator hopes shaving two millimetres of grass will help offer batsmen greater comfort against the pink ball.

Curator Damian Hough has shaved two millimetres from the length of grass on the pitch for the day-night third Test between Australia and South Africa starting Thursday.

"A couple of mill less ... it might not nip around quite as much," Hough told reporters on Tuesday.
