Commonwealth Games cycling silver medallist Rohan Dennis has joined BMC Racing Team after receiving clearance to move from Team Garmin-Sharp mid-season.
The 24-year-old Australian, who finished second behind England's Alex Dowsett in the men's time trial in Glasgow, will start competing for BMC on Monday after the two American teams came up with a rare transfer solution.
A BMC Racing statement read: "Dennis received clearance from Team Garmin-Sharp and approval by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and the Professional Cycling Council (PCC) to join the BMC Racing Team under a contract that extends into the 2015 season."
Dennis, the winner of the inaugural Tour of Alberta in 2013 and runner-up at this year's Tour of California, is looking forward to linking back up with his former director Allan Peiper at BMC, also the team of Tour de France winner Cadel Evans.
He said: "My first experience with professional teams was with him (Peiper) at the Tour Down Under when I went to Garmin-Sharp.
