Cyclist dies after Sydney car crash

A woman has died after she was hit by a car while riding with a small group of cyclists on Sydney's north shore.

A33-year-old female cyclist has died after being hit by a car on a major road in Sydney's north.

The woman was struck while cycling with a small group of riders on Mona Vale Road at Ku-ring-gai around 10am on Sunday and died at the scene, police say.

The other riders were not injured.

Police were told a Toyota Corolla sedan travelling north on Mona Vale Road, had collided with the female rider, at the intersection of Woodlands Avenue.

A 37-year-old male driver will undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing as investigations into the crash continue.
