Cyclist for cystic fibrosis to arrive home

A Brisbane man has cycled all the way from Perth in a bid to raise money for cystic fibrosis.

A Brisbane man raising money for cystic fibrosis research by cycling more than 4000km across the country is expected to return home on Sunday.

Dave McAdam set out on his epic journey from Fremantle on July 7 and has so far raised more than $60,000, with a target of $250,000.

Mr McAdam decided to undertake the gruelling task of riding from Perth to Brisbane after his two-year-old niece Freya was diagnosed with the condition.

"I believe that every child deserves the chance to grow up and make a lifetime of memories," he says.

The dedicated uncle is expected to arrive at Brisbane's Lady Cilento Hospital at about 4pm on Sunday, having set out from Byron Bay in the morning.
