A female cyclist has died in a crash with a bus in Central Australia.

The incident occurred near the Mt Ebenezer Roadhouse, about 200km east of Uluru, on Sunday night.

The bus occupants weren't injured but the 31-year-old cyclist died at the scene.

"Investigations are ongoing, however at this stage it appears (that) alcohol and speed were not contributing factors," police said.

The Northern Territory road toll is now 33, compared to 40 for the same time last year.
