Australian professional cyclist Jason Lowndes has died after a collision with a car during training, Cycling Australia says.
Lowndes, who turned 23 last week, was struck by a car near his home in Bendigo on Friday.
Lowndes, a member of the 2016 Australian team, rode for Israel Cycling Academy in the 2017 season, and had signed with JLT Condor for 2018.
He finished sixth in the under-23 road race at last year's UCI world championships.
