Australian cyclist Richie Porte suffered a suspected broken collarbone, ending his Rio campaign.

Australian cyclist Richie Porte suffered a suspected broken collarbone, after he crashed on a descent in the final 40 kilometres of the 238 kilometre race.

Porte was a strong chance for Wednesday's road time trial, but it's expected that he'll have to miss it.

Belgian Greg van Avermaet, outsprinted Dane Jakob Fuglsang to win the gold medal, with Pole Rafal Majka finishing five seconds behind for the bronze.
