Dangerous surf whipped up by ex-Tropical Cyclone Linda has forced the closure of beaches along Queensland's southeast coast.
The Bureau of Meteorology downgraded the category one cyclone to a sub-tropical low just before 10am on Wednesday and it's not expected to intensify.
But the offshore system, which is about 760km north, northeast of Brisbane, is causing some wild conditions at beaches in the southeast.
Lifeguards have closed all Gold Coast beaches due to hazardous conditions.
Several Sunshine Coast beaches including Marcoola, Coolum and Maroochydore have also been closed.

"It's really important to remember that we don't just close beaches on a whim, Surf Lifesaving Queensland's Jason Argent said.
"If a beach is closed it's because lifeguards deemed the conditions too dangerous, and allowing members of the public into the water would put their lives at considerable risk."
The bureau warns gale force winds over offshore waters will produce large swells along exposed parts of the coastline over the next two days.
It's expected dangerous surf conditions and beach erosion will persist until Thursday.
Authorities are also warning of very high tides on Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, Queensland's Fire and Emergency Services Minister Craig Crawford said some communities in northwest Queensland could be cut off for up to 10 days following last week's floods.
"There is still a long way to go as far as recovery," Mr Crawford told reporters in Mount Isa.
