Cyclone Pam: How you can help

Tens of thousands of people have been left at risk after the island nation of Vanuatu was battered by Cyclone Pam. Here's how you can help.

Tens of thousands of people have been left at risk after the island nation of Vanuatu was battered by Cyclone Pam.

Australia has donated a $5 million aid package to the nation, which was declared a state of emergency.

It’s expected that more than 50,000 children have been left at risk, prompting responses from Save the Children and Unicef.

The latter is raising funds for children and their families, with donations of $37 providing first aid kits.

The Red Cross has also launched its Cyclone Pam Appeal, to fund first aid and emergency relief support.

You can also donate by sending a cheque to Cyclone Pam (Vanuatu) 2015 Appeal, Australian Red Cross, GPO Box 2957, Melbourne VIC 3001.

Care is also collecting donations via mail at Care Australia, Reply Paid 61843, Canberra ACT 2601.

An $80 donation to Care will fund five water purification kits, while $243 will provide emergency food packages.
