Brumbies chief executive Michael Jones will learn next week if he can keep his job at the Super Rugby club.
Jones was stood down by the Brumbies board on March 21 following his scathing comments during an interview on ABC Grandstand but has been allowed to continue in the role after winning a temporary injunction.
ACT Supreme Court Justice Richard Refshauge will decide on Thursday whether to make that order permanent or throw it - and, in effect, Jones - out.
The judgment was due to be delivered just hours before an extraordinary general meeting had been scheduled to consider dissolving the board of directors.
This meeting has reportedly since been cancelled, with key stakeholders to instead meet the board in a roundtable discussion on Thursday night.
The legal stoush had looked set to drag out even longer after Jones attempted to reopen the case and submit fresh evidence on Friday but Justice Refshauge rejected his application.
Lawyers representing the board argued if the evidence - in the form of affidavits - was accepted, the case would be further delayed.
The messy back-room battle began after Jones, in an interview on ABC radio, claimed he was being targeted by outsiders mentioned in a report around the sale of the club's Griffith headquarters.
Jones referred the KPMG document, which has not been made public, to police.
