NFL giants Dallas Cowboys have again been ranked as the most valuable sports team in the entire world, at a value of $US4 billion ($A5.43 billion).

Spanish soccer giants Real Madrid came second in a poll in Forbes magazine, at $US3.65 million ($A4.96 million).

Real are the most valuable soccer team for a fourth consecutive year, their value rising 12 per cent.

Barcelona were next on the list with a value of $US3.5 billion ($A4.75 billion), also up 12 per cent from last year.

Manchester United on $US3.3 billion ($A4.48 billion), and the NFL's New England Patriots on $US3.2 billion ($A4.35 billion) rounded out the top five.
