Eurovision runner-up Dami Im has responded to claims she was robbed of first place, saying she did much better in the European song contest than she could ever have imagined.
The Australian singing star said she was shocked when Australia was sitting on top for a time during the grand finale voting segment.
"In the end, I came second and that's still much better than I ever imagined myself to do at, you know, the biggest stage in the world," she said on Sunrise on Thursday morning.
"So I'm still very, very grateful for the opportunity to have been there."
Im, whose Eurovision hit Sound of Silence is currently charting in the top five throughout Europe, didn't seem bothered by the controversy around first place, admitting her aim was to enjoy the experience and show her music to the world.
"I have this new opportunity that's opened up for me and I have got all this support from Australia.
"That was everything for me. So I'm not complaining about anything."
The former X-factor winner plans to head back to Europe in the future, but is currently focused on preparing for her Australian tour, which kick starts in July.
