Collingwood veteran Dane Swan will reveal this week whether he is playing on in 2017.
Swan's future has been unclear since the 32-year-old suffered a serious footy injury in round one of the AFL season.
News Corp Australia has reported Swan will retire on account of medical advice.
Coach Nathan Buckley gave little away, when asked about Swan's intentions following the Magpies' 71-point win over Gold Coast.
But Buckley confirmed Swan had made a decision regarding his future.

"I'm aware of what Swanny is going to do and we'll be able to let you know about what that looks like during the week," Buckley said.
"50-50 I would have thought. It's either that (Swan is retiring), or he's not."
Swan broke three bones in his foot, including a Lisfranc fracture, in the opening minutes of the Magpies' clash with Sydney.
Swan, who won the 2011 Brownlow medal, has played 258 games for Collingwood.
"If I think I (can) go round and not be in pain with my foot and not ache, I'll play on," Swan told radio station Triple M earlier this month.
"But if there's any little doubt there that I don't think I can get through a year without pain and sort of starting to resent footy, waking up aching and walking with a bit of a loser's limp all day and doing more damage to my foot for the rest of my life, well, I won't go on."
