Gusty conditions and the capsizing of two boats have prompted the cancellation of racing on day one of the Extreme Sailing Series on Sydney Harbour on Thursday.
Land Rover BAR Academy and Visit Madeira capsized at around 3pm (AEDT) in the third race of the day.
Both crews were unhurt and racing was suspended whilst the boats were quickly righted without sustaining major damage.
The wind was around 22 knots at the time, but increased to 29 knots , prompting race director Phil Lawrence to cancel competition for the day.
After three races, Alinghi led on 34 points from Oman Air 31 and Red Bull 29.

The local wildcard entrant, Team Australia, skippered by Sean Langman was the last of the eight boats on 17.
Racing continues on a daily basis with the event finishing on Sunday.
