A cross-party delegation from the Scandinavian nation will look to inspect Australia's detention centre on Nauru when it visits the Pacific island on Saturday.
According to a report from the Guardian, the delegation hopes to inspect the centre to gauge if such immigration policies could be adopted in Europe.
It's believed the group will consist of members from both ends of the Danish political divide, including members of the far-right Danish People’s party, Social Democrats, Socialists People’s party, Liberal Alliance and the socialist-green unity party Enhedslisten.
SBS has contacted the Department Foreign Affairs and Trade to substantiate the report and whether the government has granted permission for such a visit.
The visit comes after several accounts of "horrific conditions" endured by asylum seekers on the Island, as well as calls from a group of 103 detention centre workers for the immediate end to Australia's offshore detention policy.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull faced protests of the refugee policy last week during a speech which looked to outline his government's economic plan - on the same day the government agreed to close the Manus Island centre.
