Darchinyan KO'd in world title fight

Former two-division world boxing champion Vic Darchinyan has been knocked out in the fifth round of his challenge to WBA featherweight champion Nicholas Walters in Macau, China.

Darchinyan, who won world titles at flyweight and super flyweight, was knocked down three times.

He was felled in the second round and twice more in the fifth.

It was 38-year-old Darchinyan's fourth loss in his past six fights.

His record dropped to 39-7-1 (28 KOs), while 28-year-old Walters improved his log to (24-0, 20 KOs).

Jamaican Walters was making the second defence of the title.

Darchinyan relocated to Australia after representing Armenia at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
