It's 30 years since SBS TV first went on air, and Dateline is helping to mark the occasion with a look back at some of the groundbreaking international stories we've brought to the screen over the years.
Our journalists have been shot at, kidnapped, arrested, threatened, gassed, bombed and bashed in the course of delivering highly-acclaimed reports that have accumulated dozens of awards, including 16 Walkleys.
We've also pioneered video journalism, allowing our reporters to get involved in stories in a way that no full camera crew can.
The result is a powerful, human perspective on the world and Australia's place in it.
