On the tourist island of Margarita, convicted drug traffickers are able to sip on cocktails before jumping into the swimming pool at the privately-run San Antonio prison.

And the same prisoners are able to continue organising more criminal activity outside the prison, using their mobile phones.

The prison is basically run by one of the inmates known as Rabbit.

Dateline reporter Giovana Vitola recently visited the luxury jail and she has told Michael Kenny most of the prisoners she spoke to were convicted drug offenders.
