FEDERAL ELECTION CAMPAIGN: DAY 10

WHERE THE LEADERS CAMPAIGNED

* Prime Minister Scott Morrison: Sydney.

* Labor leader Bill Shorten: Melbourne.

WHAT THE COALITION WANTED TO TALK ABOUT

A $100 million promise for clinical trials in medicines and treatment in remote and rural Australia. It is also pledging $65 million for a cystic fibrosis specialist unit at Sydney's Westmead hospital.

WHAT LABOR WANTED TO TALK ABOUT:

The restoration of penalty rates within the first 100 days of a Shorten government with Labor calculating that in the 10 days from Good Friday onwards workers will have lost between $220 and $370.

WHAT MADE NEWS:

* Australian Medical Association says its latest hospital report card shows the system is "over stretched" and "over burdened.

* Mr Shorten attacked a campaign on Facebook suggesting his party will pursue a death tax in government.

* Mr Morrison has dismissed questions over his government's $80 million of water purchases under the Murray-Darling Basin plan.
