WHAT LABOR TALKED ABOUT?

* Ms Palaszczuk announced a $90 million investment to redevelop TAFE campuses and offer more training.

"We want TAFE to be the premium provider of training in this state, and the initiatives I'm announcing today will ensure our facilities are modern, fit-for-purpose and flexible." - Annastacia Palaszczuk

--

WHAT THE LNP TALKED ABOUT?

* Mr Nicholls proposed to introduce literacy and numeracy tests for teachers, which critics say is an old federal government plan. He also promised 1000 new teachers and 80 new paid internships in specialist areas.

"It will be new here in Queensland and importantly it's about lifting teacher standards." - Tim Nicholls

WHAT MADE NEWS:

* The premier says she'll have no problems handling "two former ministers" when she takes on Mr Nicholls and One Nation state leader Steve Dickson in their only debate of the campaign at the People's Forum.

* Queensland's unemployment rate rose 0.1 per cent in October to 6 per cent, preventing the premier's wish to go to the polls boasting a figure "with a five in it".

* Parents in Queensland's far north aren't enrolling their children in nippers because of the threat of crocodile attacks, leading to a 20 per cent reduction in 12 months.
