Australia's highest ranked player, world No.10 Jason Day, has drawn the marquee grouping of major champions Jordan Spieth and Justin Rose for the opening two rounds of the US Open at Chambers Bay, near Seattle, next week.
Day, who has been second twice and was fourth last year in just four US Open appearances, will tee up next Thursday at 2:17pm local time with the current world No.2 and Masters champion Spieth and the 2013 US Open champion Rose.
Former major winner Greg Norman reckons it's the best group of the tournament.
"I like Justin Rose, I think he's going to be in the mix there come Sunday and the same with Jason Day," Norman said in his role as analyst for Foxsports who will broadcast the event for the first time.
"I know he has had some interesting health issues of late but hopefully he will be over all that and be healthy and fit and going.
"Obviously, Jordan coming off his Masters victory is the only one who has a shot at the slam this year and he knows the golf course, his caddie knows the golf course, so I am going to be watching that group."
Day has already arrived at Chambers Bay to get the feel of the course.
He is hoping the fatigue and dizzy spell issues of the past month will stay away as he looks to break through for a maiden major win.
Adam Scott, world No.1 a year ago, has dropped to No.12 and has been paired with American Dustin Johnson and Spain's Sergio Garcia, slated to go off at 8:17am Thursday.
Also an early arrival at Chambers Bay, Scott is hoping a reunion with caddie Steve Williams can kickstart a below average season.
Australia's first competitor will be Marcus Fraser who has been given the honour of going out in the first group off the first tee at 7am with American Michael Putnam.
Cameron Smith, the 21-year-old qualifier from Queensland, will also go off at 7am but off the 10th tee with American Troy Kelly and Korean Seuk Hyun Baek.
Former champion Geoff Ogilvy will play with fellow US Open winners Ernie Els and Retief Goosen of South Africa at 1:33pm while John Senden is away at 7:33am off the 10th tee with Gary Woodland and Victor Dubuisson.
Marc Leishman is away at 1:33pm off the 10th tee with Lucas Glover and amateur Bradley Neil of Scotland.
Kurt Barnes gets his first taste of a US Open at 7:22am off the 10th with Timothy O'Neal and Stephen Jaeger.
World No.1 Rory McIlroy will play with defending champion Martin Kaymer and amateur Gunn Yang while former No.1 Tiger Woods will be with Players champion Rickie Fowler and South African Louis Oosthuizen.
