Day-night Test mooted for Eden Park

New Zealand Cricket are working towards hosting a day-night Test against England at Auckland's Eden Park in 2018.

A day-night Test between England and New Zealand remains a possibility after New Zealand Cricket announced a busy international schedule over the next two years.

Chief executive David White said while no decisions had been made yet, NZC was keen to host a pink ball Test at Eden Park in 2018.

"While we can't confirm it yet, it's something were extremely interested in and working towards," he said.

The first day-night Test between the Black Caps and Australia last November attracted 120,000-plus spectators to Adelaide Oval as the home team defeated New Zealand by three wickets inside day three.

This summer, the Black Caps host Pakistan and Bangladesh before Australia arrive for three Chappell-Hadlee ODI matches.

South Africa arrive in mid-February, kick-starting their six-week tour with a Twenty20 match at Eden Park before five ODIs and three Tests in Dunedin, Wellington and Hamilton.

Pakistan will play two late November Tests in Christchurch and Hamilton before Bangladesh begin their tour on Boxing Day with the first of three ODIs.

Bangladesh will also play three T20s and two Tests, leading into the three Chappell-Hadlee matches against Australia in Auckland, Napier and Hamilton beginning on January 30.

A three-Test series against the West Indies features first-up for the Black Caps in their 2017-18 schedule, followed by five ODIs and a Twenty20.

Pakistan return for three T20s and five ODIs before three more Chappell-Hadlee matches in Wellington, Hamilton and Auckland.

England will play five ODIs before the Auckland five-day game, the first time a Test has been played at Eden Park since 2014 against India.

Christchurch will host the second and final Test.
