A man believed murdered eight years ago has had his bank account looted, with an unidentified man taking money from the man's disability support pension, Adelaide police say.
Craig Meffert, 23, was last seen in February 2005 when he got on a bus in Adelaide to return to his home in the mid-north town of Terowie but was not reported missing at the time.
Police believe he was murdered that year, with his bones found in a house in the town in October this year.
A 25-year-old man who was living in the house at the time was arrested for failing to notify the coroner of a death and was released on bail.
Major crime investigation branch officer-in-charge Des Bray said the charged man had not told police how he had come into possession of the bones.

On Tuesday police said detectives were trying to identify a man filmed accessing Mr Meffert's bank account at an ATM in nearby Peterborough on at least four occasions this year.
Detectives said Mr Meffert had suffered a violent death but they would not reveal the cause.
"We believe that he was buried then later dug up and stored in the Terowie property's shed until being moved to the house," Superintendent Bray said.
"This is a bizarre sequence of events in itself."
Since finding the bones police have conducted a search of the Terowie home and the backyard without finding further evidence.
