Death toll from Mali truck blast hits 26

At least 26 civilians are now known to have been killed when their vehicle ran over a landmine in the African country of Mali.

The death toll from a landmine explosion that blew up a civilian passenger vehicle in Mali has risen to 26.

It is reported that six women and four children are among the dead from Thursday's blast that occurred shortly after the truck entered Mali from neighbouring African country Burkina Faso.

The Burkina Faso government says authorities are working to identify the victims, who had been travelling for a weekly market.

No one has claimed responsibility for the explosion but militants loyal to IS are known to operate in the area.
