Victorian police have apprehended two hot-headed animals, taking them into custody to cool off.
Police picked up a mother and baby possum on Friday morning after the pair were found severely dehydrated on the road outside the Fitzroy police station.
The marsupials were taken to the station's cells to cool down, and were given water to help them recover.
A local ranger has since taken the dehydrated duo to a local vet.
