A year on from Stacey Tierney's mysterious death at a Melbourne strip club, more than 1300 people have signed a petition demanding answers about how she died.

Ms Tierney, a fitness instructor from Manchester, was found dead in the Dreams Gentlemen's Club on December 19, 2016.

No cause of death has been revealed and no one has been charged over her death.

The 29-year-old had been partying with several men after the club had closed, 12 hours before her body was discovered.

She had worked at the club as a table-top dancer.

The petition, which was launched on Wednesday and already has more than 1300 signatures, calls on Victoria Police to find out what happened to Ms Tierney.

"No charges, no cause of death, no answers," the petition says.

"How did she die? Who left her body there? What is the duty of care for an individual to call an ambulance? Why have there been no charges?"

In March, Victoria Police arrested a 33-year-old Ascot Vale man and interviewed him on suspicion of perjury.

He was released pending summons.

On Thursday, Victoria Police would not reveal whether the man was charged, if there was a cause of death for Ms Tierney or which avenues investigators are pursuing.

"The investigation remains ongoing. The UK Coroner has primacy in relation to an inquest," a police spokeswoman told AAP.

The Manchester coroner has been contacted for comment.

Ms Tierney was buried in England and in January her family released a statement about the "extremely difficult time" they had been through since her death.

"Stacey was, and will always be, the most amazing, special, caring person you could ever meet and this loss has devastated our family," they said at the time.

"The circumstances surrounding Stacey's death are being investigated by the authorities in Melbourne and we wait to hear further news every day."

Ms Tierney lived in Australia for three years, working as a fitness instructor in Brisbane and Melbourne.
