Three derbies involving three teams fresh to Australian netball - and some familiar faces in unfamiliar colours - will kick off the first day of the new national league.

Round one will have AFL club Greater Western Sydney's affiliate Giants Netball making their debut against NSW Swifts at Sydney Olympic Park on 18 February.

The clash will see former Swifts stars Kim Green and Susan Pettitt face their old teammates.

Melbourne Vixens host a Magpies Netball Club side boasting their former captain Madi Robinson at Hisense Arena the same Saturday.

In Brisbane, reigning premiers Queensland Firebirds host newcomers Sunshine Coast Lightning.
