Broadcaster and media figure Derryn Hinch has revealed on air that he is suffering from liver cancer.
Hinch told his 3AW listeners he will undergo major surgery to remove a third of his liver soon.
The controversial figure has been battling poor health for some time. In 2007 he revealed he had cirrhosis of the liver.
"Our thoughts are with Derryn and his partner Chanel at this challenging and difficult time," Hinch's Melbourne broadcaster, 3AW, said in an official statement.
"We wish them well," the statement said.
