The central west community of Forbes is bracing for more flooding as parts of NSW are hit by the tail end of the storm cell that wreaked havoc across South Australia.

A severe weather warning has been issued for central and northern NSW and the Hunter region with wind gusts exceeding 90km/h on Friday.

The Bureau of Metereology has issued a warning to sheep graziers across most of the state amid fears lambs and sheep could die from exposure to Friday's chilly conditions.

Swollen rivers in the flood-ravaged areas near Forbes are expected to continue rising with more rain expected over the weekend.

Locals could be inundated by a second peak of the Lachlan River of 10.55 metres on Sunday.

An evacuation warning has been issued for nearby low-lying areas in Condobolin and the Willow Bend Community.

At least 50,000 sandbags have been transported into both towns from the Hunter Valley and extra SES crews have been brought in from around the state.

Numerous properties remain subject to an evacuation order while sittings at courthouses in Forbes, Condobolin and Lake Cargelligo have been cancelled for next week.

The SES is urging holiday-makers heading inland to plan their trips to avoid floodwaters.
