CHELTENHAM:

* More than 26,000 people are eligible to vote in Cheltenham.

* The seat covers just over 17 square kilometres in Adelaide's northwest.

* It was created in the 1998 redistribution of state electoral boundaries and has been held since 2002 by former premier Jay Weatherill.
