Dexus COO quits in wake of Investa failure

Dexus chief operating officer Craig Mitchell has quit, after eight and a half years in the role, to become chief executive of construction company Grocon.

Dexus chief operating officer Craig Mitchell has quit to be become chief executive officer of privately owned construction company Grocon.

His move comes in the wake of the Dexus' failed takeover bid for rival property group Investa.

"He leaves Dexus in a strong position and we wish him all the best in his new leadership role," Dexus chief executive Darren Steinberg said.

Dexus' $2.5 billion takeover of Investa failed last week after rival Cromwell Property Group acquired a 9.8 per cent blocking stake and voted against the deal.
