Concessional loans have been offered to beef producers around Rockhampton to help rebuild after the floods following Cyclone Debbie, which have damaged roads, bridges, pumps, pipes, fences and troughs.

The area was "significantly affected" and some graziers had never seen water so high as the floods dumped by the category four storm, Queensland Agriculture Minister Bill Byrne said.

Forecasters expect Rockhampton's Fitzroy River to remain above the major flood level of 8.5m for much of Saturday after peaking at 8.9m on Friday.

More than 200 homes have water over the floorboards and about 3000 residences and businesses have been cut off, in the worst flooding since 2011.

The damage bill from Cyclone Debbie surpassed $200 million on Tuesday and is expected to rise.

"These regions face a tough recovery ahead of them," Mr Byrne said on Saturday.

Under the "category b" assistance package, concessional loans of up to $250,000 and freight subsidies of up to $5,000 are available.

Similar assistance has been made available to Whitsunday, Mackay, Central Highlands, Gladstone, Gold Coast, Isaac, Logan, Lockyer Valley and the Scenic Rim regional council areas.

The announcement comes on the day Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce plans to visit the regional areas of Queensland hardest hit by Cyclone Debbie.

The federal agriculture minister says he will inspect damaged sugar cane at Proserpine and will travel through Bowen, Airlie Beach and Rockhampton on Saturday.
