Disgraced ex-MP Urban charged in WA

Disgraced West Australian MP Barry Urban has been charged with 12 fraud offences, including giving false evidence before a parliamentary committee.

Disgraced West Australian Labor-turned-independent MP Barry Urban has been charged with 12 fraud offences.

The 49-year-old Jarrahdale man has been charged with uttering a forged document, attempted fraud and forging a record related to information he allegedly provided during applications involving the WA Police Force.

He also faces charges of giving false evidence before a parliamentary committee.

Urban will face court in October and police say the maximum penalty is seven years imprisonment.
