A motorist and his wife and child have been terrorised and chased down by a group of bikers in New York in a violent confrontation that's been captured on camera.
The video, which was posted on YouTube on Monday, appears to be taken from a camera mounted on a biker's helmet and shows what appears to be dozens of motorcyclists driving erratically on the West Side Highway, or Joe DiMaggio Highway, in Manhattan's south.
The video shows the bikers surrounding a dark coloured Range Rover before one of the motocyclists pulls up directly in front of the vehicle, forcing it to come to a stop.It's then alleged that the bikers continued to block the path of the SUV with their motorcyclists, until the panicked father gunned the engine and sped off, running over several bikes in the process.
A high-speed pursuit ensued, lasting 50 city blocks, before the motorist was stopped and assaulted by the bikers, police say.
No arrests have been made but police are investigating the incident, including checking video from a nearby petrol station where the bikers gathered after the incident.
