Fremantle coach Ross Lyon insists there's no "snitch" culture at the Dockers, and denies the recent club-imposed suspensions have been based on draconian measures.
Connor Blakely, Luke Ryan, and Brennan Cox have all been dumped for breaking AFL team rules over the past month.
Blakely was dropped for the round-15 loss to St Kilda after going on a surf trip a day after he left the club early citing sickness.
Cox and Ryan were axed for last week's loss to Hawthorn because they breached the team's alcohol policy.
The pair went out drinking in the hours after the round-17 loss to West Coast.
Fremantle forbid players to drink when there's six days or less between matches.
Lyon defended the recent sanctions, saying it was important to uphold the standards set by the club's leadership group.
"It's a players' policy ... not mine," Lyon said.
"My job is to support the player group, so there are no draconian measures here.
"On six-day breaks just get ready, and on seven-day breaks you can basically go and do what you want, but look after yourself and carry yourself well."
It's unclear how the club found out about Ryan and Cox's consumption of alcohol.
Lyon said although the transgression wasn't serious, it needed to be dealt with.
"They weren't out until all hours of the morning or anything like that," Lyon said.
"But the standard you walk past in the hallway is the standards you accept.
"There is no such thing as a snitch culture. That's all garbage."
Earlier this year, Fremantle fined Harley Bennell $5000 and ordered him to undergo counselling for his bizarre behaviour while attending a WAFL match.
Cox and Ryan are in line to return for Saturday's clash with Greater Western Sydney at Spotless Stadium.
But the Dockers are likely to be without star midfielder Michael Walters for the rest of the year.
Walters injured the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during the 52-point loss to Hawthorn.
It's the same injury he suffered in 2013.
In better news, Bennell is edging closer to making an AFL return after making it through his second straight WAFL match unscathed.
Bennell, who has been plagued by calf injuries since crossing to Fremantle, tallied just five disposals in limited game time.
