Dockers coach shocked at Brad Hill rumours

Fremantle midfielder Brad Hill is contracted with the Dockers for another season, but there's rumours he may want to return to Melbourne.

Fremantle coach Ross Lyon has shot down rumours that Brad Hill wants to leave the AFL club, saying he would be shocked if that was the case.

Hill won three premierships at Hawthorn before crossing to Fremantle at the end of 2016.

The 25-year-old was dumped from Fremantle's leadership group earlier this year following a boozy night out in which he gave a false name to police.

But he is still seen as a key plank in the club's future, and is contracted with Fremantle until the end of next season.

Lyon doesn't expect Hill to go anywhere, despite rumours the wingman wants to return to Melbourne.

"That would shock me," Lyon said.

"All I know is he's opened up a pilates business and his girlfriend Sam is thrilled here.

"He came over for family. He's playing with his brother. He's been super for us."

Lyon played down any talk that Fremantle could pick up delisted Bomber Brendon Goddard in either a playing or coaching role.

"He's been one of the special players in my coaching tenure," said Lyon, who coached Goddard at St Kilda.

"We had some interest in him when he was leaving St Kilda (in 2012) ... but it's not the journey we're on (now).

"We're fully booked. All our coaches are committed. I don't see any openings anywhere."

Lyon has been heavily criticised in the wake of last week's 133-point loss to Geelong, when the Dockers conceded 23 straight goals.

The veteran coach is contracted until the end of 2020, and said he's determined to push on with the club's rebuild.

"I'm really committed. I really want to go through the rebuild. I'm not going anywhere. There's no wobbling," Lyon said.

"I have been stressed for a long time in AFL footy. It's a high demand, high performance, high accountability public role. I'm conditioned to it."

Fremantle will be aiming to bounce back strongly in Saturday's clash with Collingwood at Optus Stadium.

The match will mark the AFL farewell of Michael Johnson, but Danyle Pearce wasn't afforded the same treatment after being overlooked for selection.

Ruckman Aaron Sandilands (calf) wasn't able to recover in time to play, while star forward Michael Walters was ruled out with injury.

Stephen Hill, Joel Hamling, Sam Switkowski and Darcy Tucker all return from injury, while Bailey Banfield, Ryan Nyhuis and Stefan Giro were dropped.

Collingwood go in unchanged.
