Adelaide coach Don Pyke doesn't expect winless and injury-hit Fremantle to be easy road kill in Saturday's AFL game.

Pyke says he's wary of the Dockers, who will travel for the Adelaide Oval fixture without injured stars Nat Fyfe, Michael Johnson and Aaron Sandilands.

"A lot has been made of Fremantle and their start to the season but ... they have been right amongst it in the last three games," Pyke told reporters on Wednesday.

"As much as they haven't had a win, they're doing a lot right.

"And we prepare on the basis of a Fremantle side coming over that will be desperate for a win, as we are after last week."

Pyke scoffed at suggestions Freo would be an easy kill for the Crows, who slipped to a three-point loss to Hawthorn last Friday night.

"Nothing could be further from the truth in terms of the way I'm looking at it," he said.

"There is some things there that I know they're working on but they're well coached, they're a proud club and we are going to expect them coming across here searching for a win.

"But I would be disappointed if they have more motivation than our guys.

"The reality is we control how we play and how we turn up in our mindset ... we can control how we play and what attitude and effort that we bring."
