Dockers star's stepbrother killed in crash

The stepbrother of Fremantle Dockers forward Hayden Ballantyne has been killed in a crash while walking at night in Perth.

The Fremantle Dockers have extended their condolences to the family of star forward Hayden Ballantyne after his 22-year-old stepbrother was fatally struck by a car while walking in Perth.

Brendan Ballantyne was hit on Ennis Avenue at Waikiki about 9.15pm on Saturday and died at the scene.

A 47-year-old Waikiki man has been charged with careless driving occasioning death and will appear in Rockingham Magistrates Court on October 22.
