Carlton skipper Marc Murphy can expect a much smoother ride on the sledging front this week when he fronts up against Fremantle in Sunday's AFL clash at Domain Stadium.
Murphy was left incensed at the personal nature of St Kilda's sledges last week, with many of the comments believed to be directed about his wife.
Saints players apologised for their behaviour after the match, and Lyon said his own playing group were well aware not to cross the line.
"At the end of the day, we all know what right from wrong is," Lyon said.
"It's not win at any cost. We'd like to set a high standard that's reflected in the rest of the community.

"If there's inappropriate behaviour at the AFL level from coaches or players, you'll see it at the junior levels and the minor competitions.
"So we want to set a high standard. You've got to be mindful of the boundaries out there, because there are boundaries."
Fremantle have shot into finals calculations with five wins from their past six games.
And although they escaped with an after-the-siren win against Richmond last week, Lyon said it was a sobering experience after coughing up a 33-point lead.
Three of Fremantle's five wins have been by less than a goal.
Lyon has been happy with the wins, but he knows there's plenty of problem areas he still needs to work on.
"Even within the wins, we haven't put together four full quarters," Lyon said.
"It's consistency. Maybe it's reflective of a young group. A number of players under 30 games - it's been averaging around eight or 10 of those guys.
"But we'd like not to use the birth certificate as an excuse.
"We'd like to build on our mental toughness and produce four quarters.
"The last quarter against Richmond was very sobering for all involved."
The Dockers have been boosted by the return of star midfielder Stephen Hill from a hamstring injury, with Darcy Tucker forced to make way.
Carlton also made just the one change, axing Simon White for David Cuningham.
The Blues beat Fremantle by four points at Domain Stadium in round five last year.
The match was significant for numerous reasons.
Firstly, it signified the definite end of Fremantle's flag window - just eight months after the club finished on top of the AFL ladder.
And it also proved to be another major bump in the career of Nat Fyfe after he broke his left leg for a second time.
The result also kick-started a four-match winning streak for the Blues, giving coach Brendon Bolton great confidence that his rebuild was ahead of schedule.
Carlton have won three of their eight games this season, and they've also been competitive in losses to St Kilda and Melbourne.
