Los Angeles Dodgers have scooped their sixth consecutive National League West title after beating the Colorado Rockies in a tiebreaker game.
The teams were forced to face off in an extra game ahead of the post-season after finishing joint top of the division, with 91 wins and 71 losses.
Cody Bellinger and Max Muncy both hit two-run homers to power the Dodgers to a 5-2 victory, while Walker Buehler yielded just one hit in almost seven innings.
With the win, Los Angeles became the first MLB team to clinch six division titles in a row since the New York Yankees in the AL East between 1998 and 2006.
They head straight into the best-of-five National League Division Series, and will host the Atlanta Braves in game one on Thursday.
The Rockies, who had been bidding to win their first division title in franchise history, must face the NL wild-card game on Tuesday.
There they will meet the Chicago Cubs, who lost Monday's second tiebreaker game to the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Cubs and the Brewers finished the regualr season with 95 wins and 67 losses but Milwaukee continued their late-season winning streak to clinch the National League Central with a 3-1 victory.
The Brewers had been five games behind the Cubs at the start of September but won eight games in a row to turn their fortunes around.
Lorenzo Cain and Ryan Braun hit RBI singles in the eighth inning, while Christian Yelich added three more hits and an RBI to lead Milwaukee to their fifth division title in 50 seasons.
The Brewers will host the winner of the wild-card game between the Cubs and the Rockies in game one of the division series on Thursday.
In the American League, the Cleveland Indians, Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox all won through to the division series, while the Yankees and Oakland Athletics will battle it out in the wild-card game on Wednesday.
