Dogs and Warriors agree player swap

Canterbury have traded back-rower Shaun Lane to the Warriors for Raymond Faitala-Mariner in an NRL player swap.

Canterbury are set to announce they have traded promising second-rower Shaun Lane to the Warriors for Raymond Faitala-Mariner.

The rival NRL clubs are expected to make the swap official on Thursday afternoon.

The 198cm and 107kg Lane burst into the top grade last year, earning man of the match honours with a powerhouse performance in a memorable win over Melbourne at Belmore Sports Ground.

After playing 14 first grade games, the towering 21-year-old fell out of favour with coach Des Hasler and began the 2016 season in reserve grade.

Former Junior Kiwis representative Faitala-Mariner debuted for the Warriors last year and was considered one of their top prospects after starring in the under-20s and NSW Cup.
